With the increasing number of crimes in the country, one cannot help but question the identity of the people we interact with. This is true in the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma Criminal records are one of the documents that are constantly being requested in the state.

Oklahoma, the residents are now wary of their safety thus they want to check out the history of the people they interact with daily. People would check the criminal history of their friends, neighbors, relatives, gardeners, caretakers, nannies and even tutors. This lessens their worry once they know that they have people who they can trust and welcome. It is not only ordinary people who conduct a background check but employers to do this. This is the method chosen by company owners to make sure that their employees have no ill intentions. By doing so, employers can avoid damage to their company that may be caused by the unqualified employee.

A lot of things can be obtained from a criminal record issued in the state of Oklahoma. Information about all of the crimes that an individual has committed is detailed on the file. One would be able to know if the case has already been closed or not. Additional information would include the charges and sentence given to the convicted individual.

There is however limitations on the information indicated on a public criminal record. One would not be able to find the names of the witnesses and the investigator who is assigned on the case. This protects the witness from criminals and public scrutiny. Investigators can also proceed with their investigation if their name is not published publicly. It also protects them from the criminals who want to hurt them. If a juvenile has been convicted, his/her records are kept private in accordance to the national laws.

Criminal records in Oklahoma are archived at the office of the State Bureau of Investigation. This is where one can request for a copy of the file. One can conduct a name based search for only $15. A fingerprint search would only cost $19 per record. A finger print search is only allowed if the record requested is one's personal file. One has to have his/her fingerprints taken at law enforcing agencies of the county. The office will be the one to send it to the Bureau office.

Instead of personally going to the state office to file the request, one can simply search for the criminal records online. The Internet has allowed the residents of Oklahoma to easily obtain a copy of the document. With this there is no need to wait for days just to get a copy of the criminal records of an individual.
