What Makes California State Polytechnic University Pomona A Great University

By Andrew Anderson

California State Polytechnic University Pomona is located in the heart of Los Angeles. Near it you can find large parks, beaches, shopping areas, tourist destinations and most especially, the sweetest and freshest air you can ever breathe. It has some of the most prestigious programs in the state including entrepreneurship, architecture and engineering, which is pretty much the best that you can find in all Cal State universities.

It is hard not to find yourself busy here. There is so much things to do here! School events such as plays and intercollegiate sports will get your juices and voices flowing. You can join one of their 300 and more clubs and organizations but if you can't find one that specifically suits you, why not make your own one? It is much more fun and meeting people who share the same interests with you is actually worth all the time and effort you have used to build up your club. Aside from the many things you can do with your clubs, the campus is also an excellent place to chill and hang out. One of the students' favorite hangout is the Marketplace. Well, why? The food, of course! There's so much food there that you can taste that is perfect to go along with telling jokes and sharing secrets with your friends.

The Things I discovered when I studied there was you need a road map of the school with you for at least during the initial month of your stay there. Cal Poly Pomona is the second greatest California State campus. Just in case you're in a big hurry to get to class, you certainly would prefer not to get lost in it. On the other hand, becoming lost in this stunning campus may perhaps draw attention away from you from time to time. Merely the architecturally sound structures that towers above will certainly awe you, together with the large area of green grass basking in the sunshine. Considering it is in the eastern section of Los Angeles, it is unquestionably a breath of fresh air.

One more thing that stood out for me is not just their school pride (Go Billy Bronco!), there is also dorm pride. They even have dorm shirts and mascots! The people in my residence hall instantly welcomed me the minute I stepped in there, introduced me to my roommate and gave me some tips about the school. That is how I came to learn about their Upward Bound and EOP programs which will really help you familiarize yourself with senior students in your program as well as allow you to apply for some grant money every year.

I hold so many memories here and would gladly share them all to you but I strongly advise you to just head on there and see for yourself! It's truly not hard to fall in love with the place.
