Properly Identifying The Many Problems With Public Education

By Marci Glover

Issues concerning the public educational system has been noticed all these times. Many people have found out that there is actually a need for these issues to be properly addressed. Apparently identifying these problems with public education should be top priority. Proper resolution cannot be achieved unless all these issues are successfully identified. Then, appropriate solutions will be successfully put in place afterward.

Poverty is one of the many issues that students have to deal with. Actually ended up not having the right motivations after they have found out that going to school requires a lot of money still. They already have a hard time meeting their needs. So, many of them would be more motivated towards finding ways on how they can earn more rather than learn.

The available technology in these systems may not be as advanced as the ones that are available for those students that are studying in a private setting, there is always a disparity with what these schools have and what the privatized institutions can offer. This may be due to the presence or lack thereof of funds. Minimal access to technology may cause students to lag behind.

Another point to consider is the size of classrooms. In many cases, schools in public arenas tend to have classes that are sized way too big. The presence of more than the numbers of ideal student sin a single classroom tend to cause issues like each student not able to get the right time and attention from the teachers since there are way too many of them that are competing for it.

There is a difference in the curriculum too. There are people that have been enjoying a more advanced educational program and this is often seen and noticed in private institutions. Meanwhile, the public schools have stayed with the usual programs that they have been stuck with over the years. Now, they may no longer be as efficient and effective as they used to be.

The health and the nutrition of the students should be taken note of too. Students would not be expected to be motivated to attend their classes when they are hungry and they are not properly nourished. Most would prefer finding ways on ow they can have something to eat instead of actually attending their classes. Hence, resulting in prior attendance in many of the schools owned by the government as a result.

There needs to be family involvement in these activities too. You cannot expect students to stay motivated to do their best with their lessons when they do not have their family standing behind them and offering them support. Besides, learning is not confined in the walls of the classroom alone. It means learning from the people around- with the immediately family taking the most crucial role there is.

Violence is another issue that a lot of schools seem to be having issues with. Bullying is also another aspect of this. Some students do not feel that safe whenever they come to their respective schools. Hence, many would often choose to end up not coming to the schools as a result. Addressing these issues will not only renew interest in schools and in learning, but will also make schools better settings for younger people to be coming in.
