Other personal information can also be found on the file such as a description of the person. One would know if the person has scars, birthmarks and tattoo. One would also know how the person was arrested.

There are guidelines in getting a copy of a criminal record in Maryland. The application form has to be filled out with the necessary information. It is very important to indicate the needed information since it will be used to conduct the search and this can also help speed up the process. Not just anybody can request for the document. One is only allowed to request for their personal records. In order to gain access to the files of other individual, one has to secure a court order. An $18 processing fee is needed in order to have the request processed.

One has to go to the office of the Department of Public Safety in order to request for a copy of a criminal record in the state of Maryland. It takes several days before the record can be released and delivered to the one who requested it. Mail request can also be sent to the office but one may need to wait longer.

Online retrieval of criminal arrest records is also now available. This method is faster than doing the request personally at the office. The search can also be done anytime, thus eliminating the need to go to any office. The document is displayed almost instantly after the submit button has been clicked, thus saving you time in doing the actual search.
