Facts About Learning Language Conventions Picture Book

There are many ways of communicating and language happens to be one of them. There are also different kinds of languages. There is body language, spoken, written and the artistic form which is pictures. They say a single picture can speak a thousand words which are actually true. You can be able to tell a lot just by looking at a picture of something or someone. The article touches on Learning language conventions picture book.

Language conventions include the emotions, ideas, and messages that are put down in pictures. You can be able to tell the mood around someone just by observing their picture in that situation. A child can be able to observe and loosely translate a picture book between the age of 1-13. Some picture books, however, include a few words which directly relate to the pictures.

Pictures can be made from thin lined to thick blocks. They can also be made of different colors depending on the message the artist wants to portray. Using sketching suggests a sense of gentleness in the story of the picture. Border lines, however, suggest a lot of dynamic feelings. The kind of colors used also contribute to the mood and emotion portrayed in the picture.

As soon as the students are able to translate messages from pictures regularly. You can challenge them to find out the different techniques used in different pictures and what they suggest about the image. As they continue learning, translating messages comes easier and easier to them. Soon they are able to express their own thoughts and messages in the form of pictures.

There are the conventions of the narrative. A narrative can be in the form of a film, television program or a novel. The students look at it pretty much the same way. Both films and novels are divided into 3 act segments. It starts with a few characters who brew conflict. After a while, they bring complications in the second segment and the climax which is the last segment is the third segment is where everything is solved.

Symbolism is a major way of expressing oneself in literature. Picture books too do apply symbolism. For example, if on the cover of the book, it is dark and rainy and there is a person who appears very dimly, it shows the book could be a thriller or even scary. However, if there are animals on the cover they look happy, and there is a sun shining brightly, it suggests that it is a book full of joy.

A picture book can be presented in a set of collages. A film, on the other hand, can be portrayed on flash backs of situation that is not in the main plot. The way the book is organized, and the style it is presented in goes a long way into how the audience id is going to interpret the story. So the convictions should be applied effectively.

The setting of the book tells a lot. You can tell from what time the story is based just by looking. For example, a present-day settings are supposed to have expensive cars and skyscrapers. An olden day setting has over sized clothes and would be in black and white. The future would have a lot of technology such as robots.
