Reasons Why One Should Consider Hiring A Juvenile Dependency Lawyer

By Donna Cooper

The increase in cases of child molesting has been for years reported to be on the rise. This has made the increase in the number of counselors to help in containing the situation. Most of the affected are children and adolescents below 18 years. Once a parent or guardian is suspected to mistreat their kids legal action are taken against them. It is the work of a Juvenile Dependency Lawyer to ensure that the rights of children are not violated at any given time.

Children below 18 years are at their tender age and its the role of the parent or guardian to provide them with the basic needs but not to mistreat and torture them. The law protects these kids from being mistreated but despite the fact that they are being protected by law, cases of child abuse still continues to be on the rise.

For one to qualify to be a counselor he or she must have professional skills and knowledge of what happens in the court. Also being conversant with the laws of the country that protects the citizens is also necessary. Before getting an Attorney one has to consider whether he or she is qualified and has all what it takes to be a Lawyer.

Once a case of child mistreatment has been reported, the lawyer conducts investigations concerning the matter and later uses the evidence collected during the hearing of the case. This helps in presenting solid evidence that the allegations made were true and the client has a right to be compensated.

Depending on what evidence has been provided, the judge listens to all the allegations that has been filed against the culprit and makes judgment. In cases where the allegations are termed as null and void, the judge may instruct for the kid to be returned back to their parents.

The location where the counselor comes from is also a key factor. Looking for attorneys who are near you is an added advantage since they will be at your reach any time you are in need of their services. Also getting a lawyer from your own country is very prudent since they well understand the laws of the state unlike foreigners who may take time getting to familiarize themselves with the state laws.

Here the attorney acts as an intermediary in between the court and the parent. The counselor presents the request to the court on behalf of the parents and when the request is approved the Attorney returns it back to the parent. Later the counselor brings back the kid home and keeps track of child until he or she is of age.

If the court finds the request necessary, it therefore approves the request and the parent gets their child back but this time round strict rules are issued to ensure that the rights of the child has been fully granted. The Attorney tracks the infant regularly to ensure that their freedom has been restored back and life is comfortable and smooth at all times.
