Why A CPR Class Plano Area Is Made For Everyone

By Annabelle Holman

If you have not been caught up in an emergence situation, you may not know how important a cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedure is to a person who has stopped breathing or has a cardiac arrest. People need to value cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a lifesaver procedure and consider taking a CPR class Plano area. Over 85 percent of cardiac arrests take place in homes meaning that it is a skill that is needed by parents and guardians in homes.

When cardiac arrest strikes, a person has less than 10 minutes to die but if CPR is administered, the chances of surviving could be increased. It is one of the most important first aid skills that everyone should have. However, many people do not notice the importance of this skill until they find themselves in an emergency situation.

Emergencies could occur anywhere whether at home, in school, at work, in a panic, or in flight. Your skill may help save that life of a person who has stopped breathing due to cardiac arrest. When you take this course, you are actually given the ability to be able to save someone who is about to die and give him or her a second chance in life.

Through chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, oxygen can be delivered and artificial blood circulation provided in a person who has cardiac arrest. Heart attacks manifest when the heart is deprived of oxygen. Due to things like drowning, head injury, suffocation, drug overdose, or heart disease, a person may experience a cardiac arrest.

While you may feel that you cannot offer a life saving procedure, it is important to try to do something. Many people who have trained in this course are at times afraid to apply it in emergencies. They feel that they will do it the wrong way. However, it is better to do something than just watch as someone dies.

Even those who have taken this course, at times they are reluctant in attempting to use it when needed. Because many people do not often encounter incidents where they need to apply the skill, with time, the practical ability to perform a resuscitation erodes away and it is important after sometime to go for a refresher course to update yourself.

The compressions should be uninterrupted and can help in restoring artificial blood circulation in someone who has impaired blood circulation due to stopping of the heartbeat. For those who are well versed with the skill, they can apply both compressions and mouth-to-mouth breaths. The procedure needs to be done properly in order to increase chances of surviving in a patient. Training in CPR can allow you to remain up to date with this essential skill.

Many of cardiac arrests occur in homesteads where there are no medical emergency persons to help immediately. During that time you make the emergency call, and the time the medical team arrives, it may be too late for one to hold on to life. This is where the skill comes in handy. It is able to help somebody have artificial blood circulation in brain until the medical team arrives. This could be the best thing you do to a person in an emergency situation.
