Importance Of Common Core Materials

By Harriett Crosby

United States of America was one of the states that had the poorest system of education. The stakeholders in the sector saw a need of improving the system. An organization that was sponsored by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief state School Officers developed a system of education that was far much different from the previous one. The standards set aimed at impacting good essential knowledge in English and Mathematics at the end of each grade in high school. These common core materials are essential too.

There was a certain criteria used to develop the standards. It was the scholarly research. It entailed carrying out surveys to establish the main and essential skills that students needed before neutering college level and the workforce turning curriculum. It also required that there should be comparison from nations performing highly so that they establish some necessary tools.

The standard that were to be laid were not only for the students of the United States of America. The system was to be recognized internationally. Some people did not believe in this system and cities that the system of education was a project of the government. The fact was that the government did not take any part in the development of the standards.

The system was established to help the students but not the government. Many students indeed benefited from the system as many others who are still passing through this system. Maryland was the first to adopt it. From here, many saw its benefits and adopted it too. The established cords helped students from different backgrounds to understand and recognize their talents.

The new system provided alternative assessments that were designed to measure the growth of every student. In English, they introduced standards support that would not interfere or replace the existing English proficiency standards. The standards did not undermine the students with disabilities. They checked to ensure that those students also benefit from the system just like the other students.

Another benefit of this curriculum is that it balanced evaluation and resalable learning curriculum. With the form of education, the next generation of learners would be better and reliable feed backs for parents and teachers. The curriculum was rigorous unlike the previous one. Implementing it was not that easy.

Great investments were to be made as well to ensure this system proceeds to the next level successfully without any setback. The educators and the teachers needed to be boosted economically and financially as these were the first people who would implement the new system. For easier administration, technology would be required to fasten the pace. Computers would aid in better learning.

Teachers needed to be employed. They required experienced teachers which was not an easy thing. Not all teachers were able to understand the standards. Thus, they got qualified and experienced teachers then trained them.

To ensure the students receive common core materials perfectly, parents also had to play a role. Great work was to ensure their kids take the program positively. Parents had to assure them that it is the best thing for them and their future as it really was.
