The last thing that passengers expected at Los Angeles airport last week was a gunman randomly shooting up the place. But where can safety be found when not even little children are safe in their classrooms at school or an audience in a movie theater? Where is sanity when politicians refuse to allow gun laws to stop the horrendous violence? Where is common sense when a large portion of the population thinks it is better to allow gun ownership for everyone than to call a halt to the incredible situation that now exists?
Let's now look at some statistical figures. There are an estimated 70 million handguns privately owned handguns in the United States that are used for self-defense, hunting, sharpshooting, and other legitimate purposes. Since Washington enacted a ban on handguns, homicide rates rose to 200%. Switzerland, where at least one in every three of its less than eight million inhabitants owns a gun, has one of the lowest crime rates in the world.
If they are to protect people from crime, or the drug cartels, then why were they simultaneously selling guns to them on the side? Could it be that the government isn't trying to protect the American People, rather protect themselves? I find this a bit troubling because it is the taxpayer's money they are using.
Like I specified there are numerous states where you legitimately can't claim one and on top of that there are certain urban communities where it is lawful besides. There are additionally several states where you can claim one however there is lawful formality to overcome for example getting a license.
You might say I am way out of line to make that statement, but in my own defense, I'd like to cite; history. I'd like to point out how socialist nations fail. At that point individual gun owners will need to protect their property and family from either the mass mobs, or the government coming after whatever they have left after the government runs out of other people's money to spend.
Every day, four children die in the U. S. From abuse. That too is horrific but yet goes unreported. The media apparently considers some deaths to be more tragic than others.
National tragedies need to be addressed but asking criminals and unstable people to complete and file government forms will not stop gun violence. Gun crimes are ultimately about mental capacity, not magazine capacity, and firearm regulations rarely address the true issue.
The government can steal for you, so you don't need to use your gun to take the property of another through proxy. So, as you can you see you don't really need a gun. If you did, you would be issued one by the government because they know what's best.
So, if the new firearm regulations cause you to take action and make a firearms purchase and get some extra ammunition more quickly, then that will be good for you. However, don't let it all distract you from job one: getting food and other supplies readied.
