A Revisit Of The African American History

By Tammie Caldwell

The African people have one of the most interesting histories in the world. In this article, we will revisit the African American history and how the people have advanced over the years. You will notice that there are many Africans spread over the amercing continent. Black people who are in the US fall into the category of descendants of former African slaves.

Even so, there is a section of them who settled in the country as immigrants or for marriages. The blacks who live in America are believed to have come from the Western part of Africa. They happened to find their way in America because of transatlantic trade, which connected America, Africa, and Europe.

The Europeans who lived in America were there for cheap labor that they could find in Africa. The trade made African societies sells the delinquent members of their society. The group comprised of people who were guilty of committing serious crimes that were unacceptable in the society.

In some areas communities engaged in the war so that they could capture more slaves that they could use to get products that the European people had. It is this trade that exposed Africa to the rest of the world and later led to the scramble and partition of Africa. The farm lands in America needed people who could work on them because the natives were dying, and their numbers were dwindling because of harsh conditions.

People also loved Africans since they were hardworking and could endure even the harshest of the conditions. The trade gained popularity such that Europe developed fast compared to other countries. The first black individual to get into America did so because of this trade.

Their population grew leading to them being a part of the current population in America. With time, this slave trade was abolished, and the former slaves and their children could be free to talk and interact with others. Nonetheless, racism grew and took root despite this slave trade being abolished.

Some of the white people usually felt uncomfortable sharing some amenities with the blacks. It eventually led to segregation in t community. Black leaders like Martin Luther Junior championed for the new revolution that would see that the society viewed everyone equally. He led people to do demonstrations along the streets to champion for the removal of specific laws that were causing communities to be separated.

The demos led to a new era that made blacks be accepted in offices and get employment just like the whites. They were now able to share common amenities without a particular group been discriminated. Years later Martin Luther was assassinated ad true to his word Barrack Obama became president. Luther had hoped for the nation, which could judge a president because of their race but due to their competence. It formed an era for putting a rest to social injustices. The black people in America currently are immigrants while some are descendants of the slaves. The US is now a just nation.
