It is common knowledge that the original people of America were the Native Americans. Of course as the British Pilgrims began to discover new lands, they were able to take over America and claimed the land from the Native Americans who once ruled the place. Of course even if most of the tribes were wiped off, there are a few surviving ones with the famous Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes as the biggest.
Now for those who do not know about this particular group, it is a group of American Indians that would consist of two tribes. The two would of course be the Arapaho tribe and the Cheyenne tribe. Their headquarters are located in the heart of Oklahoma and is the home of around twelve thousand tribe members.
Of course before they had their union, they were two separate tribes that were allies with each other. The Arapaho tribe was the more stable one that originated from the Wyoming area and spread to Colorado. Of course they are known to be big players in the tobacco industry as well as the gambling industry.
The next tribe to take a look at would be the second one that makes up the united group known as the Cheyenne tribe. This one on the other hand, originated on the land that is now known as Minnesota and is known to be the people of the Great White Plains. For the longest time, the two tribes were separate from each other but still allies. Only during the year 1937 did they team up together to form a united government.
Now because of their union, they were able to successfully take a really big share of the gaming industry. Now they are very known in both the gaming and the tobacco industries because they own four very big casinos as well as a few smoke shops that would cater to the smokers. Now for those who do not know, they are the ones that own the Luck Star Clinton Casino, the Luck Star Concho Casino, The Feather Warrior Canton Casino, and the Feather Warrior Watonga casino.
Now they also have their own television station wherein they have their own channels. Now their channels are made up of shows that are aimed to the preservation as well as the spread of their culture. They also have their own newspaper which would feature both the international and local news.
Now as for their education, they have their own college in partnership with the Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Some of the programs they would offer are tribal management and American Indian studies. Now this school is managed by Dr. Henrietta Mann and is located in Weatherford.
