Various Facts About The Nervous System

By Jack Morgan

Nervous system of any human being is one of the most complicated systems of human body that is responsible for almost every action and reaction of human body. Nervous system is combination of neurons or nerves and a central nervous system and it control all the voluntary activities for example, talking, walking and non voluntary actions like breathing or reflexes.

However, although these feelings, in addition to various digestive symptoms, accustomed to not be taken too really, we are now discovering that the cells and tissues in our stomach actually do have "a mind of their own" so we should begin taking its communications more seriously.

Vitamin B, Sodium ions, and potassium makes sure that the nervous system functions properly. The central nervous system for vertebrates includes the brain, the spinal cord, and the retina. The sensory neurons, nerves, and ganglia connect to each other as well a s the central nervous system in the peripheral nervous system. The neurons send their signals to other cells in the form of electro-chemical waves.

Earthworms actually have dual nerve cords that run along the length of their body and come together at the tail and mouth. Sponges that live in the bottom of the ocean have no nervous systems. A new born baby's brain will grow almost three times more in the course of its first year. As we grow older in life, our brains lose about a gram of weight a year.

This means that feeling tense or being put in a stressful or uncomfortable scenario will inevitably cause some bit of intestinal distress and this issues in our stomach can cause a significant amount of mental discomfort as well. These two areas of the body should be studied separately as well as in conjunction with one another, because of the potential effects of the enteric nervous system and what we typically think of as our brain.

One more important fact about the nervous system is that it works on mirror image system. That means left part of human brain control the right part of the human body and right part of the human brain control the left part of human body.

As we said it is responsible for your reflexes as well, so you might be wondering what is the transmitting speed of signals on neuron , then it is more than 100 meters per second and an average human body is not longer than 2 meters and this fact clearly specify about the speed of reflexes taken by human brain via non voluntary actions.

The brain and the spinal chord usually work together, but the human spinal chord is actually capable of making decisions on its own. 43 nerves connect the central nervous system to the rest of the body, while only 12 of these are connected to the brain.
