The lawyer usually represents the defendant against the prosecutor through arguments and objections of the accusing side. Moreover, attorneys can council their clients on various approaches and strategies or arguments that can be used in the litigation. Also, the lawyer can enlighten the client on the advantages and the setbacks that could follow in case of application of possible approaches. It is the obligation of the lawyer to gather relevant information from the accused in relation to details such as accomplices and, motivation among others.

There are various resources a lawyer could employ to ensure fair trial for clients in the system. They include, constitutions, documents such as contracts, terms and conditions, agreements, receipts. Anything that can challenge the prosecutor and the complaints arguments is viable for defence. Lastly criminal notaries are important since they play the vital role of representing individuals in courts to ensure individuals are subjected to fair trial.
